We’re happy to bring some stellar additions to the team as we are progressing in bringing premium and safe amphibious seaplane services to the Kingdom of Thailand! On the aviation advisory side in particular we’d like to welcome Mr. Lauri Komi, who is an experienced aviation executive and airline check captain. He was also a co-founder and director of flight operations at Air Finland.

Dream Destination of the Month — Kanchanaburi

Our next destination yet to be discovered is Kanchanaburi. The third largest province of Thailand is located 129 kilometers away, north-west of  Bangkok. It is widely known for its beautiful shimmering river Mae Klong where the two rivers meet: Khwae Noi and Khwae Yai (famously known as River Kwai). It runs through the heart of the city shining up to be seen from up above.

Not only beaches are there in Thailand for you to explore! What about relaxing by the river? Kanchanaburi is home to many natural and historical attractions. Mae Klong River flows through one of the largest dams of its own kind with many breathtaking waterfalls. Resorts are offering rafts along the riverside for those who want to lie down and enjoy nature or the beautiful sunset. Some attractions date back to the period of World War II, such as the famous “Death railway,” where many memories are still well preserved.

It currently takes 3-4 hours on the road to reach Kanchanaburi. With our amphibious seaplanes in the future, we may reach the area in less than an hour in the sky from Bangkok, including an extraordinary experience as well as stunning views from the sky. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring you back to nature. We are talking about wild animals, green forest and mountains.

What About the Environment?

Amphibious seaplanes can take off anywhere, so no “regular” airport is needed! In order to construct an airport a large area is needed. It would disturb the natural habitat and produce large quantities of waste disposal in the area. However, with a seaplane, it leaves no trace after it takes off and while it is in the water, it immerses only 2 feet (or up to 61 centimeters) into the water which means minimal to no risk of harming marine life.

Noise Pollution

Our aircraft produce 30% less noise compared with conventional transport aircraft and even less than speed boats. The Cessna Grand Caravan EX is also approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, guaranteeing zero contamination

So Where Will We be Able to Land?

Our landing sites are carefully selected to ensure safe operations, adherence to regulations, and minimal disturbance to any area. With safety being our key priority, the minimum shore distance will be 1,100 feet to avoid contact with swimmers and beach operators. The width and length of the site is determined according to the APAC recommendations by the International Civil Aviation Organization as well as national requirements. Prior to landing, we have trained personnel on dinghy or jet-ski to patrol and clear the area. You will be dropped off on a floating platform and picked up by the boat, or on to a pier.

Siam Seaplane & Private Air Charter

Prior to launching our own seaplane services, we can already provide you with the best of private air charter services. This gives you a luxurious travel experience, time efficiency and comfort when traveling, with a choice of several types of Cessna Citation and Gulfstream jets. Rest assured, comfort and safety are our highest priorities.

While there are still many flight restrictions across Asia, get in touch as we may be able to fly you to your business meeting, social distancing get-away, or simply back home. Please visit our booking enquiry page and we hope to be able to serve you soon.

By the way: all private jet charter bookings through Siam Seaplane will also enjoy an exclusive VIP pre-sign up bonus for a first seaplane flight upon launch!

Siam Seaplane in the News

This month has been quiet for Siam Seaplane in the domestic and international press. Our focus has been primarily on closely collaborating with various Government authorities in progressing with licensing and approvals. A highlight we’d like to share is the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Director-General Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn’s endorsement, stating:

“Siam Seaplane is part and parcel of the recovery plan for Thailand.”
