This month’s dream destination: Koh Lanta

Koh Lanta is a group of islands located in the Southern part of Thailand, in Krabi province. It is famous for its beautiful beaches. It consists of Koh Lanta Noi and Koh Lanta Yai. When people refer to Koh Lanta, they normally talk about Koh Lanta Yai. It covers an area of just 6 km wide and 30 km long.

Koh Lanta is less known than its neighbour Koh Phi Phi. It is where people who seek to be away from the crowd and parties, looking for a truly quiet place would be. The regular tourist season runs from October to April with most visitors between December and March.

This island is another unspoiled destination in terms of nature to visit for beach lovers. Can an Aircraft be Flown by Just One Pilot?

The answer to this question can be yes and no. It depends on many factors. The first question that arises whether just one pilot can fly the aircraft is: is the aircraft certified for it, and is the pilot certified to do so?

In our case, the aircraft that we are using are Cessna Grand Caravan EX Amphibians. This aircraft is certified to be flown by just one crew. However, at Siam Seaplane we always require two crew members (pilot and first officer), in order to offer the best experience one can imagine, with our guests’ safety as top priority. Both our pilots and first officers are trained to be able to handle all situations and at equally high standards in world class training facilities. They are carefully selected and are maintained at best performance.
