Our Program
Siam Scenic flies guests privately between airfields across Thailand, turning long and tiring road transfers into short flights.
For most guests it becomes the best-remembered part of the trip: an aircraft to themselves, the country laid out below them, and a landing close to where they are actually going. Almost all of it currently gets captured on a phone, badly, by someone who is supposed to be enjoying it.
The Resident Photographer exists to fix that. When a charter has an available seat and the guests consent, we place a photographer on board to document the flight and hand the guests a professionally edited gallery within 24 hours — complimentary, as part of the experience.
This page explains how the roster works, what we ask of the photographers on it, and what we pay. It is here as a standing reference — for photographers already working with us, and for anyone who comes across Siam Scenic and thinks this sounds like their kind of work.
There is no closing date and no advertised vacancy. We keep the roster small and deliberately chosen, and we read every application that arrives.
This is not a staff position and not a retainer. It is a place on a vetted roster of photographers we call on when a flight qualifies. You are engaged, briefed and paid per assignment, at rates agreed in advance.
The roster currently covers Siam Scenic’s land-to-land private charter flights. It may be extended to other Seaplane Asia operations in future, on the same terms.

How assignments actually work
Conditional Assignments
A flight only qualifies if there is capacity for a photographer alongside paying guests, and the guests have agreed to a photographer joining them.
Notice is short
Expect to be offered assignments with 24–72 hours' notice. You accept or decline freely — declining does not affect your standing on the roster.
Volume is not guaranteed
We will not commit to a minimum number of assignments per month. Realistically, expect several flights per month.
Mostly out of Bangkok
Assignments may start or end elsewhere in Thailand. Where a flight leaves you outside Bangkok, Siam Scenic arranges and pays for your return commercial flight.
No exclusivity
You are free to work for anyone else, including other aviation and hospitality clients, subject to the confidentiality terms below.
- Attend a short remote or on-site brief covering the guests, the route and anything sensitive (surprises, proposals, anniversaries, privacy requests)
- Arrive at the terminal 60 minutes before scheduled departure
- Complete the standard passenger safety briefing with the crew
- Capture the arc of the experience, not just the aircraft: arrival and boarding, the taxi, the moment of lift-off, the cabin, the guests’ faces, the terrain below, the landing, the disembarkation
- Work around the guests, never through them. They are on their holiday; you are a quiet presence in it
- Follow the Pilots’ instructions immediately and without discussion, at all times, on all matters
- Keep gear secured, aisles and exits clear, and stay out of the crew’s working area
- Deliver a curated, colour-graded gallery of minimum 25 stills plus 1-2 vertical short-form video edits within 24 hours
- Deliver via the agreed platform, correctly named and tagged to the flight and guest reference
- Hand over unedited RAW files to Siam Scenic

Who we’re looking for
Essential
- A portfolio in travel, hospitality, lifestyle or documentary work — people in places, not just places
- Comfortable working in a small aircraft: confined space, engine noise, vibration, turbulence, restricted movement, and no ability to reposition freely
- Comfortable in and around water and boats, in tropical heat and humidity
- Your own professional camera equipment, insured, with weather-sealed bodies and lenses
- Wide and mid-range fast glass; no flash (it is unusable in flight and unwelcome)
- Strong, fast post-production. Consistency across shoots matters more than any single hero image
- Conversational English; Thai a strong advantage
- Bangkok-based, able to travel within Thailand at short notice, with a valid passport, visa and work permit (for non-Thai nationals)
Nice to have
- Prior aviation, yacht, dive or expedition photography
- Short-form video editing to a publishable standard
Conduct & confidentiality
The guest experience outranks the photograph
Always. If capturing a shot means intruding, you don’t take the shot.
Some guests are high-profile or travelling privately. You will sign an NDA. Nothing is shown, posted, sent or described to anyone outside Siam Scenic without written clearance.
No image may be published by you — including to your own portfolio or social channels — until Siam Scenic confirms guest consent in writing.
No solicitation of guests for private work.
Zero alcohol or impairing substances on any assignment day prior to the flight, per aviation crew standards.
Commercial terms
Terms are fixed when you join the roster and confirmed on each individual assignment order.
Assignment fee — half day (single sector)
